Saju and BaZi turn the year, month, day and hour of birth into four pillars, each made of a heavenly stem and an earthly branch. The stem of the day pillar is your Day Master, the element that stands for you. The count of the five elements across all pillars shows what is strong and what is missing.
Common questions
- Are Saju and BaZi the same?
- They share the same method. Saju is the Korean name and BaZi is the Chinese one, and their interpretation traditions differ slightly.
- What if I do not know my birth hour?
- You still get three pillars, which is most of the chart. The hour pillar adds detail, mainly about later life and children.
- What does the Day Master tell me?
- It is the centre of the reading. The other elements are read by how they support, drain or control your Day Master.
